WELCOME
After falling in love with this old water-powered flour mill (molino viejo) near Serón in rural Almería, I bought it in 2003. As someone who is obsessed with health and fitness, it was the realisation of a dream: to create a special retreat dedicated to groups who wanted to focus on health, fitness and wellbeing, in addition to a place where individuals or groups could go for a peaceful holiday. I’d like you to think of the old mill as your own private home for the duration of your stay, and to this end, I have aimed to make the accommodation as comfortable as possible as well as fitting for a retreat where you can relax, enjoy the location and environment, and focus on yourself away from the distractions of everyday life. I sincerely hope your experience will be everlasting or even… life-changing.

MEET THE TEAM
Florence
Translator
Florence is French and speaks fluent English and Spanish. As well as being a translator/interpreter in all three languages, she also teaches Spanish to those looking to learn the language in a fun, relaxed and entertaining environment. After travelling, living and working in the UK, her native France and the Balearic and Canary Islands, she now lives in Andalusia and it will be her pleasure to meet you and show you around the Mill after arrival.
Darren & Sue
Transport & Catering
Darren and his wife Sue are the catering team; Darren also provides transport. They have been living and working in the Serón area since 2005, and are looking forward to meeting you and passing on their knowledge of the area and the rural Spanish lifestyle.
Carmen
Housekeeper
Carmen lives in the nearby village, a walking distance from the Old Spanish Mill, with her husband and twins. Having lived in the region all her life, she is a wealth of knowledge about the local area and is a real asset to our team. When she is not busy looking after the Mill, she loves nothing more than to be out in the surrounding countryside on the trails.
Steve
Property Maintenance
Steve improves, updates and maintains the Old Spanish Mill and its facilities on a permanent basis, as we endeavour to provide the best possible level of service, accommodation and comfort for our guests at all times. Steve moved to Andalusia after living in France for over 12 years where he worked as a stone surface renovation specialist in the yachting industry. He therefore has an eye for detail and takes pride in the quality of the work he achieves maintaining the property.
